An information security breach involving the Police Service of Northern Ireland has raised concerns after personal data was accidentally disclosed. The Information Commissioner, Mr. John Edwards, highlighted the serious consequences that can come from seemingly small mistakes and emphasised the importance of robust measures in place to protect personal data. Following a report presented by the PSNI, the ICO is investigating the matter and working with them to determine the extent of the risk posed and how it can be mitigated.
