Exploring Ways to Increase Diversity among Investors and Alternative Fundraising Pathways for Small Businesses
The Small Business Capital Formation Advisory Committee will have a meeting to discuss the funds that support early-stage companies, including those led by underrepresented founders. To begin, a partner at an investment firm will share information on the various investment strategies and factors involved in investor decision-making and how early-stage funds can impact capital flow. The Committee will also explore how to increase diversity among investors and incentives to facilitate this change. The afternoon session will shift focus to alternative pathways for small businesses to access long-term capital. Panelists will present information on different funding options available to smaller companies that might be unable to access more traditional forms of loans or venture capital investments due to lack of growth.
