The Investor Advisory Committee of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will be hosting a public meeting at their Washington D.C. headquarters on September 21, 2020 at 10 am ET. This meeting can also be viewed via webcast on the SEC website.Within the meeting will be two panels dedicated to specific topics. The first panel will focus on Exempt Offerings under Regulation D Rule 506 Accredited Investors, Human Capital Management Disclosure, Open-End Funds Liquidity Risk Management Programs and Swing Pricing from The Dodd–Frank Act. The second panel will take an in-depth look at the pros and cons of different types of funding options available to potential investors, including private equity, venture capital, debt, secured debt, and other sources. The meetings main goal will be to discuss how to improve investor protection, through better disclosure requirements and greater access to certain investments that are not currently available to all eligible Americans. Additionally, they’ll address the impact that changes in global macroeconomic markets may have on current and future investments.
