"Advancing FOI Regulations and Support for Public Bodies"
The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) is dedicated to ensuring that public authorities comply with access to information laws. With the funding from the Comprehensive Spending Review, the ICO has been able to establish a new team tasked with working alongside these authorities so that these laws are properly met - providing support and preventing any breaches of the law. In order to understand how they can effectively do their job, the ICO has been carrying out important conversations with FOI practitioners and public organisations across the country to identify common issues, what kind of tools might help with day-to-day management and where more guidance may be needed. The ICO is committed to this task and looks forward to sharing their progress.
