The newly published Manual of Strategic Regulation for the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) has been highly successful in its first 12 months. Through its implementation, the public sector was able to take a more strategic approach to regulation, resulting in more action being taken than ever before. The organization conducted a lessons-learned exercise to review what had worked and where improvements could be made. Input was sought from both public authorities affected by the new measures as well as staff who were actively using the regulation. Beyond reactively handling complaints, the organization is committed to continuing their work to offer support and take necessary action across the public sector to drive improvements.
